The production of rose scented tea was recorded in detail as early as in the Ming Dynasty of China in books such as "Tea Spectrum" compiled by Qian Chunian and collated by Gu Yuanqing, and "Kao Pan Yu Shi" by Tu Long. The rose is a deciduous shrub with beautiful flowers and a strong fragrance. It also has pharmacological functions such as regulating qi, promoting blood circulation and astringency.
The tea base used for rose tea includes black tea and green tea. Besides roses, other fresh flowers such as roses, osmanthus and modern roses also have sweet and rich floral scents and can be used to make scented tea. The production process of rose tea is as follows: treatment of tea base and fresh flowers, blending of scented flowers, flower lifting, re-firing, and flower raising.
